The learning child

Prof. dr. Jelle Jolles

How can we encourage and use children’s natural curiosity and language, as well as their spatial reasoning and thinking abilities, to develop their talents? “The learning child” is a line of research that focuses on cognitive and neuropsychological mechanisms. It also assesses various forms of education or counselling to identify those that really do justice to the individual capacities of children in primary education. The development of talent, motivation to learn, “learning to learn”, literacy, and numeracy are all spotlighted here.
